Terms & Conditions
Last updated:
1. Who you are contracting with
Leonoria (“Leonoria”, “we”, “us”) operates this website and the online language-learning service available through it. When you create an account or buy anything on this site you enter into an agreement with Leonoria on these terms.
2. Acceptance
By creating an account, browsing teacher profiles or continuing to use the service you confirm that you accept these terms. If you are booking on behalf of a child, you confirm you are their parent or guardian and accept these terms for them. If you do not accept these terms, please stop using the service.
3. What we provide
Leonoria is a marketplace and classroom. Students buy coins, book 30-minute lessons with certified TEFL teachers and attend those lessons in our in-browser video classroom. Teachers publish availability, teach lessons and use our AI lesson planning tools. Lessons are delivered by independent teachers, not by Leonoria.
4. Your account
You must provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
Native home language is required at registration. All users — students and language educators alike — are required to select their native home language during registration and onboarding. This selection is not cosmetic: it is the value that dynamically coordinates our platform-wide real-time translation pipelines, so chat translation helpers, classroom prompts and learner-facing guidance resolve to each participant’s own registered home language rather than a static fallback language. You must keep this field accurate, and you may update it at any time from your profile settings.

5. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service. In particular you must not: use it for any unlawful purpose; commit fraud or send spam; harass, abuse or endanger another user (including any child using the Kids track); infringe anyone’s intellectual property; record or redistribute lessons without consent; upload malware; probe, scan or interfere with our security; or scrape the site or its content.
6. Intellectual property
Leonoria retains ownership of the platform, its software, branding, documentation and all associated intellectual property. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your own learning or teaching. You must not reverse engineer the service, resell it, or circumvent its technical limits. Teachers retain rights in the teaching materials they create; you grant us the limited licence needed to host and display your content in order to run the service.
7. AI lesson planning
Our lesson planner produces draft teaching materials using AI. Output may be inaccurate or incomplete and must be reviewed by the teacher before use. Teachers remain responsible for their prompts, for verifying accuracy and for holding the rights to any material they input. We may remove or restrict content that is unlawful or infringing and may suspend accounts for repeated misuse. The platform’s automated assistant tools are provided solely as an administrative convenience. Tutors maintain absolute structural responsibility for final session contents, and are strictly required to personalize AI assistance to maintain our elite, peer-reviewed live interactive standards.
8. Coins, lesson prices and payment
One coin equals one US dollar in lesson value. Coins are prepaid lesson credit; they are not money, do not earn interest and cannot be exchanged for cash outside the refund rules in our Refund Policy. Lesson prices are set from the teacher’s tier and are calculated by Leonoria at the moment of payment. Leonoria retains a 20% platform commission on each lesson; the remaining 80% is credited to the teacher’s earnings.
9. Who you are buying from
Coins and lessons are sold to you by Leonoria directly. Card payments are processed on our behalf by Paystack, our payment processor. Paystack handles the card transaction only; your order, your account, customer support and refunds are handled by Leonoria.
10. Scheduling, lesson structure, attendance and group classrooms
Scheduling and Lesson Structure: To maintain strict calendar synchronization and prevent back-to-back scheduling overlaps, all lessons operate as hard-locked 30-minute calendar blocks. Active instructor-led conversational immersion runs for exactly 25 minutes, transitioning seamlessly into a mandatory 5-minute classroom closure buffer, during which the student is moved directly to their multi-lingual progress review terminal.
Teacher preparation window. Verified instructors may sign into the video room up to 10 minutes before the scheduled start in order to load materials, test audio and prepare the board. That early access is a preparation courtesy only: no attendance, lateness or cancellation assessment of any kind is calculated during it.
The 5-Minute Lesson Grace Period Rule. The official late-attendance countdown begins strictly at the contractual lesson starting hour shown on the booking, never from the moment a room was opened early. Every participant — student and teacher alike — therefore has a 5-minute grace period measured from that official starting hour in which to enter the classroom.
Failure to attend. Where a participant has not entered the classroom within the first 5 minutes of official class time, the session is flagged for administrative review. Our administration then handles the resolution review and determines the final session status outcome — including whether the session is recorded as completed, as a no-show against a participant, or as an eligible balance adjustment. Outcomes are decided case by case on the classroom attendance logs.
Group classrooms. Every multi-student Group Classroom runs on a strict 5-minute grace window countdown that begins the moment the teacher launches the session. A student who arrives more than 5 minutes after that launch is permanently locked out of the live classroom grid for that session, so that instructional focus is preserved for the students already in the room. Where that lockout applies, the student’s 6 LeoCoins for the seat are forfeited in full as a No-Show penalty, and the tutor still receives their normal structural earnings split for the seat. The lockout is automated and is not reversible from within the classroom.
Booking consecutive sessions creates a unified 60-minute learning block that remains hard-locked inside its calendar slots: 55 minutes of active instruction followed by the same mandatory 5-minute closure buffer. No overtime extensions are granted under any circumstances.
Flat-rate access model. Leonoria coordinates a flat lesson access structure. A lesson costs the same published coin rate for every learner on that lesson type, with no hidden tiered hour unlock penalties, no escalating per-hour surcharges and no paywalled progression gates that force you to buy additional hours before a level, teacher tier or classroom format becomes reachable. Bundle discounts published in the LeoCoin Store are the only price variation we apply.

10a. LeoCoin token definition
LeoCoins are platform-exclusive educational credit utility tokens. They are issued and redeemed solely inside Leonoria and are fixed at an operational platform value baseline of US$1.00 per coin for the purpose of valuing lessons and reward items. LeoCoins are non-transferable between user accounts and may not be gifted, sold, pooled or traded. They are not money, not e-money, not a security and not an investment instrument, they do not earn interest, and they confer no ownership or shareholding of any kind. LeoCoins are redeemable exclusively for (a) live native language instruction sessions booked on the platform and (b) authorised digital reward items inside The Safari Bazaar. Any cash treatment of a coin balance is governed only by our Refund Policy.
11. Dual-currency regulation: LeoCoins and Leo-Gems
The platform maintains two entirely independent ledger tracks, and balances never move between them.
LeoCoins are commercial virtual tokens purchased by an adult account holder (typically a parent) for the sole purpose of reserving classroom slots — 10 coins for a private 30-minute lesson, 6 coins for a group lounge seat.
Leo-Gems (💎) are unbuyable virtual loyalty reward tokens. They cannot be purchased with money under any circumstances and are allocated automatically by our database on completion of a post-lesson review. Leo-Gems carry zero monetary or fiat cash-equivalent value, cannot be redeemed, refunded, transferred, gifted between accounts or traded, and may be spent only on digital dashboard customisation items inside The Safari Bazaar.

12. Onboarding diagnostic assessment
The initial CEFR placement quiz is a secure, single-execution onboarding assessment that runs on a fixed 4-minute timer. It may be taken once per learner account. Manual retakes and diagnostic score resets are disabled in order to protect the educational integrity of our level-matching algorithms. Learners progress out of their assigned level through completed lesson hours and teacher assessment, not by re-sitting the quiz.
13. Teacher Tier 1 milestones and group payouts
Tier 1 group sessions support up to 5 concurrent students of identical CEFR proficiency. A tutor who launches a classroom at partial occupancy (for example 3 of 5 seats filled) does so voluntarily and expressly accepts that the coin split for that session is calculated solely on the basis of participants actually checked in at launch. Leonoria does not top up, guarantee or backfill unsold seats, and occupancy at launch is final for settlement purposes.
14. Service level
We work to keep Leonoria available, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free. Lessons depend on your device and internet connection, which are your responsibility.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to your account for material breach of these terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may close your account at any time. On termination, unused coins may be refunded where our Refund Policy allows.
16. Warranties and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
17. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the service or your breach of these terms.
18. Changes, law and disputes
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Leonoria is established, and disputes will be heard by the courts of that jurisdiction. You may not assign your rights without our consent; we may assign ours as part of a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
19. Leonoria Promotion and Invitation Regulations
Referral bonuses are distributed strictly as milestone loyalty rewards. Student referrer reward balances are structured at a flat rate allocation of exactly 2 LeoCoins issued dynamically upon every 3rd distinct, non-fraudulent, and successfully settled external payment gateway checkout transaction completed by incoming referred referee profiles. Referral bonuses remain un-buyable virtual promotional credits. Creating automated, multi-accounting, or artificial profiles to trigger loops results in instant forfeiture of wallet pools and account termination.
- Promotional referral credits carry no cash value, cannot be purchased, transferred, exchanged or withdrawn, and are not refundable.
- Teacher referrals. Teacher referrer milestones are settled at exactly +5 progress hours upon verified colleague certificate validation checks. Credit is applied once, and only once, the referred teacher cleanly passes our administrative certificate screening and completes every onboarding requirement. A rejected, withdrawn or incomplete tutor application credits nothing.
- Each account may be referred once. Self-referral, duplicate or fabricated accounts, disposable email loops and any automated invitation script are prohibited.
- Where a settling checkout is later refunded, charged back or reversed, the related referral credits and experience hours are reversed accordingly.
- We may vary, suspend or withdraw the referral programme at any time. Our determination of programme abuse is final.
